This I Know For Sure…

Father’s Day was this past Sunday and I must boast …

Claire has the most INCREDIBLE Daddy EVER EVER EVER!!

Fathers Day Collage Nathan

  • He’s kind, gentle, sweet, silly, handsome, loving, talented, strong, handsome (repeated for emphasis), confident, humble, loyal and this list goes on and on!
  • He’s the best protector, provider, hard working fixer, humble Christ-follower, husband, leader, musician, fireman, friend, helper, vw bug driver, and motorcycle rider!
  • And also top notch baby food maker, diaper changer, routine keeper, story teller, book reader, silly sound maker, toy player, belly kiss blower, bottle feeder, music time player, pj dresser, bath time washer, tuck in to bed tucker (yes that’s a title) and of course THE WORLD’S BEST DADDY!! He does all of this and more for 12+ hrs straight while I’m at work … I hardly know another dad who can handle that!?!?

I’m one wonderfully blessed mama to have such an incredible dada to teach and raise our little baby girl with! And this I know for sure, watching you love our sweet girl so well, makes my heart melt daily and my love for you grow endless!

Father's Day

We’re celebrating you and thanking God for you! Happy Father’s Day! We love you!

Your Girls

What!?! 9 Months Old!?!

Yes, we are still alive! Yes, these last 3 weeks since our last little update, have been jam packed! And yes, it feels so good to say hello again and put some thoughts down on blog paper! Here’s what we’ve been up to …

Brace yourself for picture overload!

Our little Missy Boo Roo Roo turned 9 months old!!! Ahhh!! I can and can’t believe it! This little girl has grown so much right before our eyes … she’s doing the most adorable little army crawl, talking in her own little language, waving, clapping, panting like a Puppy on command, dancing and LOVES to eat eat eat! We’ve been working on finger foods just recently and a few times I’ve let her run loose with her entire pureed meal and spoon in hand and this is usually what happens:

She hardly gets more than a couple spoonfuls in her mouth, but at least it makes for some incredibly adorable photo-ops!

This is what happens when she’s declared her self finished and rubs her eyes with a fistful of banana … nap time!

So lets rewind just a little, prior to Claire officially being 9 months old, (as this post is intended for) and take a look at some oldies but goodies!

My Minnesota Grandma & Grandpa stayed a few days with us and along with my beautiful mama, we took the opportunity to capture a 4 generation picture. A picture we’ll always cherish!

Claire loves her Great Grandma and Grandpa … especially Great Grandpa’s glasses. Can’t wait for next time they’re here with us again!

A few days after Claire’s Dedication Day, we did a second dress-up in her dedication dress and snapped these beauties:

Claire’s dress was the same dress I was dedicated in 27 years ago. God’s faithfulness to our family is so good …a heritage that runs deep!

Oh her cubby cheeks are so scrumptious!!

Teaching her the importance of reading God’s Word from an early age!

We had this little white keepsake Bible engraved with her name

And this is mostly what she did with it … gives new meaning to our “daily bread” … chomp chomp quite literally!

Last week we spent the early afternoon poolside with our ABC Moms … wish I would have snapped more pictures! Seconds after this we spent most of our time herding the girls as they all headed in opposite directions!

And then here are some favorite snaps from the last couple weeks:

Daddy actually captured this one while I was at work! Nothing better than seeing this smile!

Memorial Day:

Panting like a Puppy:

Enjoying the summer afternoon:

Pretty blue peepers!

Now hold on to your seat for the most adorable 9-month photo shoot possible:

And the best for last … 1 to 9IMG_1272

Today was an especially special day in the Wilmarth home! Our baby girl was dedicated this morning at our church on the most perfect day … my very first Mother’s Day! Her dedication was definitely the best gift I could have ever asked for, well, along with the Coldwater Creek Spa Gift Card my husband gifted me! 😉

Here are some pictures from our beautiful day:

Claire’s white linen square collar dedication dress is the same dress I was dedicated in when I was just a baby! Claire’s Grammy made some matching eyelet bloomers to go with.

Grandma with her granddaughters!

After the service, we headed back to our home for a delicious Sunday luncheon with family and friends!

Of course I didn’t take pictures until after everything was pretty much devoured … so here’s my attempt to re-stage 🙂

We served Brie & Apricot Jam Sandwich Melts, a Spring Cranberry Salad, BLT mini Quinoa bites (recipe), and a Berry Salad

Yards of eyelet and lace filled our center piece apothecary jars

I adapted Claire’s dedication poem from Unveiled Wife

D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U.S Lemon Dream Cupcakes (recipe)

My lemon obsession has definitely continued far beyond my pregnancy cravings!

Delicious homemade Strawberry Cheesecake thanks to my incredible MIL!

Carly and Avery came over to splash around! Fun in the pool!

And most importantly … some may ask, well what’s the purpose of dedication? Here’s what we pray and promise as Claire’s parents:

Today we recognize Claire as a gift from God and give heartfelt thanks for God’s blessing over us. We pledge as parents that, with God’s help, we will bring up Claire in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, making every reasonable effort, with patience and love, to build the Word of God, the character of Christ and the joy of the Lord into her life. We promise to provide, through God’s blessing, for the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs of Claire, looking to our Heavenly Father for the wisdom, love and strength to serve her. We promise to be in constant prayer that, by God’s grace, Claire will come to trust in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of her sins and for the fulfillment of all His promises to her, even eternal life; and in this faith follow Jesus as Lord and obey His teachings. We now dedicate Claire to the Lord who gave her to us, surrendering all worldly claims upon her life in the hope that she will belong wholly devoted to God.

Our pastor picked and read this verse over Claire during her dedication ceremony today: “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Zephania 3:17. Love this picture of just how much God loves us!

So very blessed!
